Physiotherapy
A Physiotherapist is a health care professional who diagnose and provide hands-on treatment and exercise prescription to address movement dysfunction. They also plan and implement treatment programs to prevent physical disabilities.
Physiotherapists are trained to work with geriatrics/chronic care (arthritis/heart disease), incontinence, sports injuries, cardiorespiratory (asthma/emphysema/bronchitis), pediatrics, hand rehabilitation, and neurophysiotherapy (spinal cord).
Athletic Therapy
A Certified Athletic Therapist is a Nationally certified individual that specializes in orthopedic and sports injury assessment and rehabilitation.
The scope of practice includes prevention, immediate care, assessment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of musculoskeletal injuries. Prevention includes postural evaluation, equipment selection and maintenance, warm-up, strength and conditioning, and supportive taping. Immediate care includes basic emergency life support and recognition and management of acute traumatic neurological dysfunction.
Utilizing contemporary rehabilitation techniques, an Athletic Therapist promotes an environment conducive to optimal healing in preparing the individual for a safe return to an active lifestyle.
Registered Massage Therapy
A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) is educated to assess and treat soft tissues and joints of the body to prevent dysfunction, injury, pain and physical disorders of the soft tissue. RMT’s are effective in treating a wide range of conditions including as migraine headaches, tendonitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia.
Chiropractic
A Licensed Chiropractor practices a drug-free, manual approach to health care that includes patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. In particular, chiropractors assess patients for disorders related the the spine, pelvis, extremity joint, and their effect on the nervous system and soft tissue.
Physician (Sport and Exercise Medicine)
A Physician specializing in Sport and Exercise Medicine is committed to the practice of medicine as it applies to all aspects of physical activity.
